Below is an email that was sent to TSW’s print management customers after a major print supplier sadly – and suddenly – went into administration
There is – and probably always will be – a debate about whether it is better to handle your printing in-house or use a print manager.
The TSW print team made a strong case for the managed option last week. I’d like to share some brilliant work done in a potentially serious situation. As a client, I hope you will find it reassuring.
Anton Group, the UK’s largest cut-sheet printer, went into administration suddenly on 28th March. Of course, our thoughts are with their 350 employees and we wish them all the best. Anton’s customers including Boots, JD Williams, RBS and Virgin Media will have also had urgent print issues to deal with.
Anton were also TSW’s largest print supplier – we had over a dozen jobs live with them at the time.
As you might imagine this led to a rather busy week(!) for the print management team, but the net result for our clients was:
• Zero deadlines missed
• Zero deliveries missed
• Zero penalties
• Zero price increases
• Zero hassle to TSW clients
• And to cap it all, we even picked up 100+ pallets of stock
– no easy feat from a company in administration!
Now I am not suggesting that every print manager would have been quite so resourceful or committed. In fact, I’m rather proud of the work done by our team and I hope you feel better knowing that they are on your team too.
Service like this, coupled with smart buying* means your prices are better than most clients could negotiate themselves. This combination makes a pretty strong case for the value of a good print manager.
If you would like to discuss any aspect of TSW’s print management services, please speak to Peter Clark [email protected], 01732 529331 and thank you, as ever, for being a TSW client.
Yours sincerely,
Martin Woolley, CEO
